معرفی
Dr. Évelyne Vinet is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at McGill University's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. She serves as a Scientist at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (IR-MUHC) at the Montreal General Hospital site, where she is affiliated with both the Program in Infectious Diseases and Immunity in Global Health and the Center for Evaluative Research in Health. Additionally, she is part of the Department of Specialized Medicine, Division of Rheumatology at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC).
Dr. Vinet's research program focuses on using epidemiological methods to improve reproductive health outcomes in women with rheumatic diseases, particularly systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis, and in their children. Her work includes creating the largest cohort of children of mothers with systemic lupus erythematosus worldwide, which has led to significant findings about increased risks of autism spectrum disorders, congenital heart disease, and stillbirth in these children. She also investigates how therapies used to treat rheumatic diseases affect health outcomes in patients and their children.
Her research spans several key areas including Clinical Epidemiology, Rheumatic Diseases, Non-Communicable Disease Epidemiology, Pharmacoepidemiology, and Population Health and Public Health. She is actively involved in the Canadian Network for COVID-19 Research in Rheumatology (CAN-RECOVR), demonstrating her commitment to addressing current health challenges through research.
Dr. Vinet's work has significant implications for clinical practice, particularly in guiding treatment decisions for women with rheumatic diseases who are planning pregnancy or are pregnant. Her research helps inform evidence-based guidelines for managing reproductive health in this vulnerable population.
Among her notable scientific contributions are studies examining congenital heart defects in children of mothers with lupus, pregnancy outcomes in women with rheumatic diseases, and the safety of various medications during pregnancy for women with autoimmune conditions.
Dr. Vinet has advised numerous graduate students and collaborated with researchers across multiple institutions to advance understanding of rheumatic diseases and their impact on reproductive health. Her work bridges clinical practice and epidemiological research to improve patient outcomes.
