Émeline Janine D

Émeline Janine D is a postdoctoral researcher at the Istituto di Argomentazione, Linguistica e Semiotica (IALS), affiliated with the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) in Switzerland.

Her current research project, "The Linguistic Representation of Agentivity in Fashion Controversies and its Connection to Argumentative Strategies", examines how linguistic structures negotiate problem/solution dynamics in sustainable fashion debates. This work is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).

Émeline earned her Ph.D. in Linguistics from the Université catholique de Louvain (Belgium) under the supervision of Prof. B. De Cock, focusing on agent-defocussing constructions across English, French, and Spanish registers.
