Prof. Dr. Çapan Konca is a Professor at Adıyaman University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medical Sciences, specializing in Child Health and Diseases with subspecialty training in Pediatric Intensive Care. Born in Siverek in 1977, he graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 2002 and completed his specialist training at Dicle University between 2003-2008.
His academic career at Adıyaman University began in 2012 as Assistant Professor, advancing to Associate Professor in 2016 and Professor in 2021. As of February 2024, he holds multiple leadership positions including Head of the Department of Pediatrics in the Department of Internal Medicine, Clinical Chief of Pediatrics, and Head of the Department of Pediatrics in Intensive Care.
Prof. Konca's research focuses on pediatric intensive care medicine, emergency pediatrics, and infectious diseases in children. His work extensively covers respiratory failure management, multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), nutritional status in pediatric intensive care units, and management of severe poisonings. His recent publications (2020-2024) demonstrate high productivity with numerous international journal articles.
With 92 published articles, three book chapters, and 84 conference presentations, his research output is substantial. He has served as a consultant for four Pediatrics specialist dissertations and received first and third place awards for poster presentations at national congresses.
