Åse Christensen is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Sustainability and Planning, Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Aalborg University. Her work focuses on land governance, urban land tenure security, and sustainable development in Namibia, contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Research Interests:
Åse’s research explores urban land tenure security, flexible land tenure systems, and poverty alleviation in Namibia. She examines institutional frameworks and development needs, aligning with SDG targets for sustainable cities and reduced inequalities.
Recent Publications:
Her key outputs include studies on computer-based flexible land tenure systems (2020), challenges in state-owned land management (2020), and a PhD thesis comparing urban land tenure security in Namibia (2024). Earlier works (2015–2019) discuss land reform, poster presentations, and conference proceedings.
