Stephen Burgess serves as an Adjunct Research Fellow at the School of Biological Sciences, The University of Western Australia, contributing to plant-water relations research since 2017. His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from Murdoch University (1991-1995), followed by a PhD in Botany from UWA (1996-1999) focusing on woody plant root water uptake.
