Dr Siobhán North is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer Science at the University of Sheffield. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from the same institution and teaches courses including Java programming, object-oriented design, and programming for engineers. Her research focuses on XML databases, formal languages, and model checking, with notable contributions to indexing, compression techniques, and trust-based access control. She is also the Faculty of Engineering's Deputy Director of Learning and Teaching, overseeing educational strategy and quality assurance.
