Dr. Ala’ Khalifeh is a faculty member at the German Jordanian University , affiliated with the School of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship . He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine (2010), and has been an active researcher in wireless communications and IoT since returning to Jordan in 2012. PhD: Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of California, Irvine (2010) Master's: Electrical Engineering, The University of Jordan (2004) Bachelors: Electrical Engineering, The University of Jordan (2001) His research spans Wireless Sensor Networks , Internet of Things , and Multimedia Communications , with a strong emphasis on practical applications in healthcare, agriculture, and smart cities. Recent work focuses on deep learning for environmental monitoring , secure systems-of-systems frameworks , and energy-efficient IoT protocols . Dr. Khalifeh has received numerous accolades, including the Young AFCEA 40 under 40 International Award and the Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition First Prize . He leads the IEEE Jordan Section and serves as Vice-Dean in GJU's Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH).
