Dr. Euan Freeman is a Lecturer in the Glasgow Interactive Systems Section at the School of Computing Science, University of Glasgow. Freeman's work addresses the gap in current computing devices which have high-definition audio and visual output but fail to fully utilize our sense of touch. He has developed a vision for computing devices that take advantage of our haptic perceptual capabilities, allowing us to experience the digital world with the same richness as the physical world. His recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on touchless interaction techniques, particularly ultrasound haptics and mid-air gestures, with applications ranging from medical imaging to autonomous vehicle interfaces. The research spans both theoretical exploration of haptic perception and practical implementation of novel interaction techniques.
