Dr. Kazjon Grace is an Associate Professor in Computational Design at the University of Sydney’s School of Architecture, Design and Planning. He holds a prestigious Australian Research Council DECRA Fellowship and leads research on computational creativity, AI, and human-computer interaction (HCI). His work focuses on enabling AI systems to collaborate creatively with humans, modeling concepts like novelty, surprise, and curiosity to enhance design processes. He has secured over AU$2.5M in research grants, including DECRA funding. Grace’s research spans co-creative tools, affective computing, and AI-driven design systems, with applications in urban planning, robotics, and education. His academic background includes a strong focus on interdisciplinary research at the intersection of design, AI, and cognitive science.
