José Ramón Hilera González is a Full Professor at the University of Alcalá, affiliated with the Computer Science Department. His research focuses on accessibility in software, e-learning systems, and mobile technologies. He leads the PMI (Intelligent Mobile Platforms) and TIFyC (Information Technologies for Training and Knowledge) research groups, emphasizing inclusive design, semantic web applications, and educational technology standards. He earned his Doctorate in Computer Science from the University of Alcalá in 1997 with a thesis on methodological contributions to document management in software development. His work spans over 30 years, addressing accessibility challenges in web applications, mobile platforms, and virtual learning environments. Notable projects include IESAMI (an intelligent system for academic monitoring of students with disabilities) and contributions to metadata standards like ISO/IEC 19788 MLR. His research interests include model-driven development, semantic interoperability, and adaptive learning systems. He has published extensively on accessibility evaluation tools, mobile app usability, and inclusive education frameworks. Recent work explores AI-driven adaptation of educational resources and accessibility in emerging technologies like MOOCs and video games. Dr. Hilera advocates for accessibility integration in early stages of software design, emphasizing collaboration between developers and educators. His contributions have impacted policy-making in e-inclusion and virtual campus accessibility across Europe and Latin America.
