Amy Elizabeth serves as Assistant Professor of Dance in the Department of Theatre & Dance at Lamar University, teaching movement technique, theory, and history while choreographing for theatre productions like 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time'. She previously held teaching positions at Lone Star College–Kingwood (as Dance Program Coordinator), Lone Star College – North Harris, Houston Community College, Sam Houston State University, and Rice University. As founder of Aimed Dance (501(c)3 nonprofit), she produces contemporary dance works commissioned by institutions including Lamar High School and Rice University. Her academic credentials include: M.B.A. from Lamar University (experiential entrepreneurship/arts leadership) M.F.A. in Dance from Sam Houston State University (performance/choreography emphasis) B.F.A. from Sam Houston State University Professor Elizabeth's creative research centers on contemporary dance choreography with interdisciplinary applications, evidenced by festival presentations at American College Dance Association and Houston Fringe Festival. Her work bridges performance and education, frequently involving student ensembles in commissioned projects for academic institutions across Texas. She maintains strong connections to Taiwan through teaching at Tainan University of Technology and to international dance networks via her liaison role with Rome's VIVO Ballet. Her professional recognition includes: Houston Press’ 100 Creatives (2013) Houston Press Top 10 Choreographers (2013) As an educator, she has guided student ensembles on statewide tours and conferences while building administrative expertise through decade-long board service for SHSU Dance Alumni Association and current advisory roles with Downtown Beaumont Cultural Arts District. Her nonprofit Aimed Dance provides a platform for integrating professional choreographic practice with academic mentorship.
