Arcady Dyskin serves as Winthrop Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering within the School of Engineering at The University of Western Australia, with an additional professorship at the International Space Centre. His academic foundation includes dual MSc degrees (IT in Oil and Gas and general from Moscow State) and a PhD from the USSR Academy of Sciences. His work integrates numerical and analytical methods to address challenges in rock fracture, drilling engineering, and structural design. Recent publications (2024-2025) reveal strong thematic continuity in spallation mechanics, hydraulic fracturing with constricted openings, and interlocking structures, demonstrating methodological integration of digital image correlation with advanced modeling for sustainable drilling solutions and reservoir engineering applications. Grants and Supervision Secured 35 research grants including two active ARC projects: 'Controllable spallation' (2025-2028) and 'Thermal spallation drilling' (2024-2026). Past projects cover catastrophic rock failures (2021-2024) and smart construction materials (2019-2020). Supervised 12 research students with primary collaboration through the International Space Centre and School of Engineering research groups.
