Rico Krueger is an Associate Professor in the Intelligent Transportation Systems Section at the Department of Technology, Management and Economics, Technical University of Denmark (DTU). His research focuses on developing models, methods, and technologies at the intersection of behavioral modelling, machine learning, and simulation for human-centric and sustainable transport systems. He leads the IMMERSION project (2024–2029), funded by the ERC Starting Grant, which explores human decision-making through integrated choice and process data analysis. Before DTU, he was a postdoctoral researcher at EPFL (Switzerland) and holds a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from UNSW Sydney. Education: PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering, UNSW Sydney, Australia Postdoctoral Researcher, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland Research Interests: Rico’s work emphasizes innovative data collection methods like immersive virtual reality to study human behavior in mobility contexts. Key areas include travel demand forecasting, multimodal systems, mobility on demand, sustainability, and health impacts of transport policies. Awards: European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant (2024–2029) Advising & Grants: Leads the IMMERSION project funded by ERC. His research integrates advanced algorithms and behavioral insights to improve transport system planning. No formal advisee list is provided in the text. Labs/Teams: Active in the Intelligent Transport Systems Section within DTU’s Transportation Division.
