Daniela Puato is Associate Professor of German Language and Linguistics at the Department of European, American and Intercultural Studies , Sapienza University of Rome, where she has been a permanent faculty member since 2010. She is also series editor of Studies in European Linguistics (Sapienza Università Editrice) and sits on the scientific committees of several linguistic journals and book series. Education: Degree in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures, Sapienza University of Rome National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as Associate Professor, Sector 10/M1 (Germanic Languages, Literatures and Cultures), 2018 Research Interests: German specialised languages , with particular emphasis on medical and economic discourse German-Italian contrastive linguistics and comparative analysis of grammar and lexicon Theoretical and didactic German grammar , especially for Deutsch als Fremdsprache (DaF) Specialised translation (German-Italian) and its pedagogy Text linguistics and pragmatics applied to professional genres (financial press, medical leaflets) Her recent publications (2020-2024) cluster around two major strands: (1) the linguistic complexity of German financial communication—analysing investment recommendations, stock-market magazines, and simplified-language initiatives such as Leichte Sprache ; and (2) the semantic-pragmatic dimensions of German grammar as presented in DaF teaching materials, including tense usage, participial attributes, and passive constructions. These works highlight a consistent effort to bridge linguistic theory with pedagogical practice.
