Kyren Bogolub is a Network Seismologist and Co-Chair of the DGSE Geoscience For All Committee at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). Affiliated with the Department of Geological Sciences and Engineering under the Mackay School of Earth Sciences and Engineering, she holds a Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of Colorado, Boulder (2021) and a B.A. in Physics from the University of Montana, Missoula (2015). Her research focuses on seismicity, induced seismicity, elastic wave propagation, and innovative applications of low-cost sensors like Raspberry Shakes. She also explores data processing techniques, gradiometry, and full waveform analysis to understand wave propagation physics. Previously, she served as Network Manager for the Colorado Geological Survey’s seismic network, managing operations, fieldwork, and outreach programs. Bogolub has extensive teaching experience, including pre-calculus for underrepresented student groups and mentoring undergraduates. She actively promotes geoscience accessibility through outreach, formalizing CGS’s outreach program and advocating for inclusive education through her committee role.
