Eloi Puig-Mayenco is a Lecturer in Applied Linguistics at King’s College London’s School of Education, Communication & Society, associated with the Centre for Language, Discourse & Communication. He holds a PhD in Psycholinguistics from the University of Reading and an ESRC postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Southampton (2019-20), specializing in third-language acquisition in childhood. His research focuses on multilingualism across the lifespan, particularly how prior languages influence sequential language learning. Research interests include second/third language acquisition, early bilingualism, syntax-semantics interface, and methodological innovations in language acquisition research. He teaches courses on second language learning, quantitative research methods, and applied linguistics at both BA and MA levels. His recent work explores L3 development patterns, linguistic transfer in multilingual contexts, and methodological rigor in language studies. Key contributions include longitudinal studies on negative concord in L3 Spanish and theoretical frameworks for L3 acquisition. He is actively involved in organizing workshops like the Multilingual Language Acquisition conference and contributes to labs focusing on cognition, learning, and multilingual communities.
