Mostafa Nouh is an Associate Professor and Adjunct Associate Professor at the University at Buffalo, affiliated with the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. His research spans structural dynamics, acoustics, and smart materials. University at Buffalo, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Primary Department: Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Adjunct Role: Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering His research focuses on metamaterials for wave control, energy harvesting, and vibration damping. Key areas include nonreciprocal wave propagation, phononic crystals, and mechanical computing. Recent publications highlight advancements in neuromorphic metasurfaces, acoustic diodes for fluid energy extraction, and non-Hermitian phononic systems. Themes include structural dynamics, active/passive control, and metamaterial design. Scientific Awards : CAREER Grant: NSF award for nonreciprocal metamaterials research His work involves advising on grants, leading the Sound & Vibrations Lab, and developing tunable damping systems. He explores future directions in time-modulated materials and UAV noise mitigation.
