Professor Joanna Krempeć-Kaczor serves as Head of the Department of String Instruments, Guitar, and Harp at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz since 2016, while maintaining teaching positions at the A. Rubinstein State Music School Complex in Bydgoszcz and K. Szymanowski Music School Complex in Toruń. She performs as a soloist with the I.J. Paderewski Pomeranian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and serves as a Consultant at the Center for Artistic Education. Her educational foundation includes distinguished graduation from the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, where she earned national competition awards and international recognition including First Prize at the Kroměříž Double Bass Competition. She performs on a historic Giuseppe Pedrazzini double bass crafted at the turn of the 20th century. Krempeć-Kaczor specializes in double bass repertoire expansion and pedagogical innovation, with particular expertise in contemporary compositions and chamber music. Her artistic leadership manifests through founding the Bass Baltica festival and directing international masterclasses including Janowieckie Interpretacje Muzyczne and Das Bassini-Camp. Her major recognitions include: First Prize at the 10th International F. Gregory Double Bass Competition in Kroměříž Minister of Culture and Art Scholarships National competition awards (Gdańsk, Elbląg) AB Ciechański Competition Finalist (Poznań, 1992) Through her Bass Baltica festival and judging roles in international competitions, she actively shapes double bass pedagogy while mentoring emerging musicians. Her performance career spans solo recitals and chamber collaborations across Poland and internationally, featuring both historical and contemporary repertoire. Current initiatives include expanding Bass Baltica's educational programming and developing new performance projects with the Spring Quintet, alongside ongoing recording projects that document rare double bass repertoire.
