Michael Farber is a Professor of Mathematics at Queen Mary University of London's School of Mathematical Sciences. Previously, he held professorships at the Universities of Warwick, Durham, and Tel Aviv. His research focuses on applied and computational topology, topological robotics, stochastic topology, and their applications in distributed computing, genomics, and brain connectivity modeling. He has authored influential monographs such as Invitation to Topological Robotics and Topology of Closed One-Forms . Farber's current research includes projects funded by the Leverhulme Trust and EPSRC, addressing probabilistic and deterministic topology, automated motion planning, and topological robotics. He advises PhD students including Lewin Strauss, Gabriele Beltramo, and Lewis Mead. His work has been recognized with the Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award.
