Vessela Kirilova Stoimenova is an Associate Professor at the Department of Probability, Operations Research and Statistics within the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at Sofia University . She holds a Ph.D. in Probability, Operations Research and Statistics from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (2006) and an M.Sc. from Sofia University (2001). Education : M.Sc. (2001), Sofia University Ph.D. (2006), Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Her research focuses on Statistical Inference for Branching Stochastic Processes and Applied Statistics . She has developed robust estimation algorithms for branching processes with random ancestors and immigration, and her work bridges theoretical statistics with applications in biological modeling and industrial processes. Her publications explore parametric and nonparametric estimation, Monte Carlo simulations, and modeling of population dynamics. Stoimenova teaches courses including Introduction to Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics , Time Series , Mortality Models , and Factorial Designs at the bachelor level, and Design of Experiments , Stochastic Processes , and advanced seminar classes at the master level. She has contributed to educational materials for courses on time series and experimental design.
