Xi Zhang is a Full Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University . He is also the Founding Director of the Networking and Information Systems Laboratory. His academic career includes research fellowships at the University of Technology Sydney and James Cook University, as well as prior roles at AT&T Bell Laboratories and AT&T Laboratories Research. He has pioneered advancements in statistical delay/error-rate bounded QoS , AI-driven 6G architectures , and mURLLC (massive ultra-reliable low-latency communications) .
