Tadeo Baldiri Salcedo Rahola serves as Associate Professor at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, where he leads research in the Energy in Transition group. Previously, he completed his PhD at Delft University of Technology's OTB Research Institute for the Built Environment (2010-2014) and worked as a researcher in their Department of Innovation Systems (2007-2010). Dr. Rahola's research spans urban sustainability, climate change adaptation, and energy transition with particular expertise in sustainable housing renovation and building energy systems. His work integrates construction engineering with urban planning to address pressing challenges in climate-proof cities, energy-efficient housing, and renewable energy integration. Recent projects increasingly incorporate machine learning techniques for energy forecasting and digital twin applications for urban energy transition. His publication portfolio reveals a clear trajectory from foundational work on social housing renovation methods toward contemporary research on energy storage economics, building energy flexibility, and data-driven approaches to sustainable urban development. The most recent publications (2022-2025) demonstrate growing emphasis on digital solutions, battery storage systems, and integrating social perspectives into urban energy transition planning. Dr. Rahola maintains active collaborations across European institutions with particular focus on Dutch and French social housing contexts. His work bridges academic research with practical applications in urban energy systems, contributing to both theoretical frameworks and implementable solutions for sustainable urban development.
