Prof Prashant Pillai is a globally renowned academic leader and Professor of Cyber Security at the University of Wolverhampton , School of Mathematics and Computer Science. He currently serves as Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange, Director of Cyber Quarter (Midlands Centre for Cyber Security), and former Associate Dean for Research and Director of the Wolverhampton Cyber Research Institute. His career spans leadership roles at Oxford Brookes University and the University of Bradford. PhD in Authentication, Authorisation, and Accounting Frameworks from the University of Bradford MSc and BSc in Informatics and Electronics from the University of Delhi Research interests include applying AI to cybersecurity, developing security solutions for safety-critical systems (smart grids, autonomous vehicles, robotics), network security protocols, and data analytics for cyber threats. His work focuses on heterogeneous networks, secure wireless communication, and IoT. Recent publications highlight trends in 5G-satellite integration , vehicular health monitoring , mobile edge security , and blockchain for supply chain , reflecting his expertise in hybrid communication systems and critical infrastructure protection. Over 100 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters demonstrate his impact in AI-driven security and protocol innovation. Scientific awards and recognitions include: MBE (2023) for services to cybersecurity and education 75 at 75 Achievers (2023) in Education, Science, and Innovation Fellow of British Computer Society (FBCS) Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA) Advising : Supervised doctoral research on topics like network slicing in 5G , malware detection , and threat modeling for smart cities .
