Dr. Γελασάκης Αθανάσιος is an Associate Professor of Farm Animal Diseases at the Laboratory of Anatomy and Physiology of Farm Animals, Department of Animal Science, School of Animal Biosciences, Agricultural University of Athens since 2018. He holds a PhD in Animal Management and Health (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 2011), MSc in Public Health (National School of Public Health, 2014), and BSc in Veterinary Medicine (Aristotle University, 2005). He is a Diplomate of the European College of Small Ruminant Health Management (ECSRHM). His research focuses on farm animal diseases, health/welfare, nutrition, productivity, and sustainability of livestock systems. Key areas include veterinary epidemiology, biostatistics, diagnostic tools (e.g., infrared thermography), and One Health approaches addressing zoonoses and food safety. He coordinates 10+ research projects and has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles.
