Sarah Friedrich is an Associate Fellow at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) in the Research Group Science for Nuclear Diplomacy , affiliated with the Research Department International Security . She is currently pursuing her PhD in Physics at TU Darmstadt, focusing on scientific peace research and nuclear verification technologies. PhD candidate (since 2025) at TU Darmstadt MSc in Physics (RWTH Aachen University, 2021–2024) BSc in Physics (RWTH Aachen University, 2018–2021) Her research specializes in nuclear non-proliferation and verification , particularly detection technologies for Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and novel reactor concepts. She contributes to the Cluster for Natural and Technical Science Arms Control Research (CNTR) , advancing radiation detection systems for nuclear security applications. The 2023 article on liquid-organic time projection chambers reflects her work on antineutrino detection for nuclear safeguards. This research intersects experimental physics , nuclear engineering , and non-proliferation policy . As a member of PRIF’s Science for Nuclear Diplomacy group, she collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop technical solutions for international arms control agreements and environmental crisis mitigation.
