Juliette E. McGregor, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Rochester's Flaum Eye Institute. She also holds affiliations with the Del Monte Institute for Neuroscience, Neuroscience Ph.D. Program, and Advanced Retinal Imaging Alliance. Her primary research focuses on vision restoration therapies targeting the fovea, leveraging adaptive optics technology to evaluate optogenetic and photoreceptor replacement strategies. McGregor's work addresses challenges posed by the unique anatomy of the fovea in conditions like age-related macular degeneration (AMD). She leads the McGregor Lab, which investigates retinal ganglion cell activity, calcium dynamics post-photoreceptor ablation, and the longevity of optogenetic therapies. Her lab employs advanced imaging techniques including in vivo calcium imaging and femtosecond laser ablation.
