Pedro Pita Barros is a Professor of Health Economics at the Nova School of Business and Economics , Universidade Nova de Lisboa, with a focus on health economics, regulation, and competition policy. He has held significant roles including Vice-Rector of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2013-2017) and served on multiple national and international panels such as the European Commission’s Expert Panel on Effective Ways of Investing in Health and the Mission Board for Cancer (2019-2020). As Past-President of the Portuguese and European Associations of Health Economics, he has shaped academic discourse and policy.
