Wassim El Ahmar is a Part-Time Professor at the University of Ottawa , affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering and the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science . His research focuses on advancing computer vision and multimodal large language models (LLMs) to create robust perception systems that integrate thermal, RGB, and depth imagery for applications in industrial quality inspection, autonomous navigation, and environmental monitoring.
