Elliot Wright Hawkes is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering , University of California, Santa Barbara . He leads the Hawkes Group, focusing on robotics innovation through design, mechanics, and non-traditional materials. His research enables robust, adaptable, human-safe robots for unstructured environments. Hawkes holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (2015) and MS in Mechanical Engineering (2014) from Stanford University, and a AB in Mechanical Engineering (2011) from Harvard.
