Corinne Mason is a Professor in the Department of Women's and Gender Studies at Mount Royal University's Faculty of Humanities, where she teaches courses spanning feminist theory, reproductive justice, and queer studies. Her academic work critically examines institutional power structures through intersectional and decolonial lenses. Education: PhD in Feminist and Gender Studies from the University of Ottawa MA in Women’s and Gender Studies from the University of Toronto BA Honours from Queen’s University Dr. Mason's research program investigates two core areas: (1) the institutionalization of feminist and queer logics in higher education, including critical analyses of EDI frameworks and responses to sexualized violence; and (2) queer kinship formations during the COVID-19 pandemic, queer parenting amid "parental rights" movements, and reproductive approaches to population concerns. Her work consistently challenges hegemonic narratives through intersectional and transnational feminist frameworks, with particular attention to how whiteness operates within institutional spaces. Her recent publications reveal a sustained focus on intersectionality's theoretical evolution and practical implementation, with recurring themes including pandemic impacts on academic labor, weaponization of white feminism in campus sexual violence responses, and critiques of flattening complexity in development aid. The trajectory shows increasing engagement with queer kinship and reproductive justice amid rising anti-gender movements. Scientific Awards: No awards listed in provided materials. As Co-Founder and Co-Lead of QriTical (queer + trans research hub), Dr. Mason directs collaborative research infrastructure while securing external funding including SSHRC grants for projects like "Queering COVID: The Impacts of Social Distancing Practices on 2SLGBTQ Communities."
