Levente Szentkirályi serves as an Assistant Teaching Professor with the Social Responsibility and Sustainability Division in the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He holds multiple leadership roles including Faculty Director for Global Initiatives in Leeds, Faculty Fellow for Teaching and Clinical Professors with the Office of Faculty Affairs, and Treasurer of CU-Boulder's chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Additionally, he serves on the City of Louisville Sustainability Advisory Board, contributing his expertise to local sustainability policy. His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder, an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Connecticut, and dual undergraduate degrees (B.S. in Environmental Studies and B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy) from Bowling Green State University. Dr. Szentkirályi's research centers on social and environmental justice, with particular focus on environmental health risks, food insecurity, climate ethics, and just war theory. His interdisciplinary approach bridges political theory, environmental policy, and business ethics to develop ethically-justified yet pragmatic policy proposals aimed at protecting vulnerable populations from injustices. His work emphasizes the moral obligations of industry to prevent potential harm through greater toxicity testing, public disclosure of findings, and equitable risk distribution. His publications reveal a consistent theme of applying the precautionary principle across diverse contexts including environmental health, gun violence prevention, vaping regulation, and corporate accountability.
