Dr. Tysheann Grant is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist serving as Clinical Faculty at Adler University in Chicago. With over a decade of experience, she specializes in trauma-informed care, psychological assessment, and therapy with adolescents, young adults, women, and marginalized populations. Her clinical work extends through multiple community organizations including Youth Outreach Services, After School Matters, and The Chicago High School for the Arts. Her educational background includes a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University (California School of Professional Psychology) in 2021, where she successfully defended her dissertation on "Internalized Racism and Television Consumption" under Chair Constance Dalenberg, Ph.D. She completed an APA-accredited internship with Adler Community Health Services – Division of Teen Wellness and Opportunity and a postdoctoral residency at the San Diego Center for Children. Dr. Grant's research interests focus on the intersections of racism and media, identity development in the African American community, and the experiences of minority graduate students. She has expertise in PTSD and trauma-related disorders, child and adolescent psychology, evidence-based treatments, psychodiagnostics, and neuropsychological assessment. Her work particularly emphasizes severe and persistent mental illness within marginalized communities.
