Carolin Ioramashvili is an Assistant Professor in Innovation Policy at the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) within the University of Sussex Business School. She holds a PhD in Economic Geography from the London School of Economics (2021) and is a British Academy Innovation Fellow collaborating with the UK Cabinet Office’s Evaluation Task Force. Her research focuses on innovation’s role in regional development, labor markets, and inequality, with a particular interest in policy evaluation and local economic growth. She emphasizes evidence-based approaches to address economic inequality and sustainable development goals like reduced inequalities (SDG 10) and decent work (SDG 8). Key Contributions: Her publications analyze spillovers in spatial economics, technological invention’s labor market effects, and corruption’s impact on firm growth. She is an editorial board member of Spatial Economic Analysis and actively contributes to policy dialogues through her fellowship with the What Works Centre for Local Economic Growth.
