Professor Sergey Radchenko is a leading scholar in Cold War history and international relations. He currently serves as the Wilson E. Schmidt Distinguished Professor at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Johns Hopkins University , and as a Visiting Professor in the School of Law and Politics, Cardiff University . His career spans institutions in Mongolia, the U.S., the U.K., and China. London School of Economics (BSc in International Relations, 2001) London School of Economics (PhD in International History) Radchenko’s research focuses on Cold War history , Sino-Soviet and Soviet-Japanese relations , atomic diplomacy , Central Asian politics , and contemporary Sino-Russian dynamics . His recent work examines global Cold War trends, China’s foreign policy under Mao, and postwar geopolitical strategies. His publications highlight interdisciplinary themes across history, political science, and international affairs, with subfields including Soviet nuclear strategy, Cold War crises, and authoritarian regime analysis. He has authored or co-authored over 15 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Wilson E.
