Dr. Thomas Duvernay is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Geophysics at the Research School of Earth Sciences, Australian National University (ANU). He holds a PhD in Earth Sciences from ANU (2023), an M.Sc. from Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris (IPGP), and a B.Sc. from Université Paris 7. His research focuses on mantle convection dynamics and their surface expressions, particularly intra-plate volcanism and mid-ocean ridge magmatism. He employs numerical geodynamic models to link subsurface processes with geochemical observations. Key research interests include mantle plume mechanisms, lithosphere-asthenosphere interactions, and the development of computational tools like PyDRex for simulating crystallographic orientation in peridotites. His work integrates geophysical, geochemical, and tectonic data to unravel Earth's dynamic processes. Recent studies address the Australian plate's thermomechanical behavior, the Cosgrove volcanic track dynamics, and coupled geodynamic-geochemical frameworks for mid-ocean ridge basalts. His interdisciplinary approach bridges computational modeling with field observations, emphasizing mantle melting parameterization and seismic anisotropy studies.
