Dr. Jiao Jiao Li is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Her research focuses on regenerative medicine, particularly developing therapies for musculoskeletal disorders using stem cells and biomaterials. She holds honorary roles at the University of Sydney and Woolcock Institute, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology and Engineers Australia. Dr. Li earned a combined Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering (Honours I)/Bachelor of Medical Science and a PhD from the University of Sydney. Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, integrating cell biology, nanotechnology, and data science. Key research areas include extracellular vesicles for osteoarthritis treatment, biomaterials for tissue engineering, and personalized therapies. Over 30 research awards highlight her contributions, including the 2024 Eureka Prize and Metcalf Prize for Stem Cell Research (2023).
