Neil Leach is a Professor of Digital Design at The European Graduate School (EGS). He holds visiting professorships at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design and Tongji University, and is an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California. A NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts Fellow, his work bridges architecture, computational design, and philosophy. He has taught globally at institutions including the Architectural Association, Cornell University, and the Royal Danish School of Fine Arts. Leach's education includes an MA and Diploma in Architecture from the University of Cambridge, and a PhD in Architectural Theory from the University of Nottingham. His research focuses on computational design theory, robotic fabrication, and critical philosophy, particularly engaging with Deleuze and materialist thought. He has authored 23 books, including Rethinking Architecture , Designing for a Digital World , and Fabricating the Future , translated into multiple languages. His NASA-funded projects explore 3D-printed habitats for the Moon and Mars. He has organized 12 international conferences and curated exhibitions like Fast Forward and Machinic Processes at the Beijing Architecture Biennial. His awards include the NASA fellowship, and his work spans academic, curatorial, and technological domains. Leach advocates for architecture's integration with emerging technologies, emphasizing computational innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
