Dr. Edwina Schade is a Researcher and Teaching Coordinator at the Institute of Educational Science within the Faculty of Philosophy at Leibniz University Hannover. She has held various academic positions since 2017, including Research Assistant, Lecturer, and Teaching Coordinator since December 2021, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to educational research and pedagogy. Her educational background includes a Doctorate in Educational Sciences (2018-2023), a Master's degree in secondary school teaching with Mathematics and Philosophy (2015-2017), and an Interdisciplinary Bachelor's degree with Mathematics and Philosophy (2011-2015), all completed at Leibniz University Hannover. Dr. Schade's research program centers on understanding educational dynamics through multiple lenses. She investigates how personal relationships influence educational decisions, particularly in adult and second-chance education contexts. Her work on stereotype threat examines how Turkish-origin pupils experience learning situations and how teacher encouragement can mitigate negative effects. She employs both qualitative and quantitative methods, with a particular expertise in casuistic teacher training approaches and objective hermeneutics. Her publication record shows consistent development of research themes across multiple venues. The 2024 dissertation explores the tension between individual educational aspirations and couple relationships in second-chance education, building on her earlier work examining family dynamics. Her conference presentations since 2021 demonstrate increasing sophistication in measuring and addressing stereotype threat in educational settings, with a growing focus on practical interventions for teachers. Member of the German Sociological Association (Section Ageing and Society) since May 2019 Member of the Association for Objective Hermeneutics since November 2018 Associate Member of the German Educational Research Association (Sections Adult Education and General Education) since August 2018 Member of the workgroup of casuistry since November 2016 As Teaching Coordinator since 2021 and a lecturer since 2017, Dr. Schade has taught across multiple degree programs including Master's in secondary school teaching (Mathematics & Philosophy), Master's in Educational Sciences, Interdisciplinary Bachelor's degree, and Bachelor's in Special Needs Education. Her research projects have included coordinating a study on stereotype threat in vocabulary learning among Turkish-origin pupils since February 2020. She contributes to editorial activities for both "Sozialer Sinn" (Journal for Hermeneutic Social Research) and "falltiefen" (contributions from casuistic teacher training), demonstrating her commitment to both theoretical and practical aspects of educational science.
