Dr. Tengfei Yuan serves as a Post-Doctoral Fellow (Research Fellow) in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Tulane University's School of Science & Engineering. His research addresses critical questions in environmental biogeochemistry, specializing in mercury cycling and nutrient dynamics under global change. Dr. Yuan's academic foundation includes: PhD in Environmental Science from Nanjing University (2024) MS in Environmental Science from East China Normal University (2020) BS in Environmental Science from Hunan Agricultural University (2016) His research program integrates Earth system modeling with observational data to investigate pollutant and nutrient movement through environmental compartments. Key focus areas include mercury biogeochemistry across atmosphere-land-ocean interfaces, vegetation-mediated buffering effects, and climate change impacts on biogeochemical cycles. Dr. Yuan employs interdisciplinary methodologies spanning atmospheric chemistry, ecology, and environmental modeling to address complex questions in global change science. Dr. Yuan's publication record demonstrates significant contributions to environmental science, with recent work appearing in Nature Communications, Environmental Science & Technology, and Environment International. His research reveals critical insights into mercury-vegetation interactions, global mercury budgets, and pollutant transformation processes, showing consistent productivity with multiple high-impact publications annually. As an active researcher, Dr. Yuan maintains extensive international collaborations and contributes to advancing fundamental understanding of Earth's biogeochemical systems. His work bridges modeling and observational approaches to address pressing environmental challenges with policy relevance.
