Tao Jin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ottawa. He holds a Ph.D. from Rice University (2016) and Master of Engineering (ME) and Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degrees from Tongji University. Prior to his academic role, he served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Los Alamos National Laboratory (2016–2019) and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (2019–2021). His research focuses on developing numerical techniques and computational strategies to model complex material and engineering systems, integrating physics-based methods with machine learning.
