Valtteri Vuorisalo is a Visiting Professor in the Department of War Studies at King’s College London and a part-time Professor of Practice in National Security and Security Policy at the University of Tampere. His expertise spans defense industry experience, policy analysis, and academia with over 20 years of engagement in international military missions and defense consulting. Dr Vuorisalo holds a Doctor’s degree in International Relations from Tampere University (2012) and has served on multiple influential boards including the Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications’ digitalization working group, the Finnish Information Security Cluster Executive Board, and the Wartime Economy Society Board. His research focuses on technology’s role in modern security architectures, defense interoperability, and data-centric power dynamics. His publications analyze geopolitical technology competition, defense innovation, and the evolving Northern security landscape. He contributes to global policy discussions through institutions like the UK's Integrated Review and Nordic-Baltic cybersecurity initiatives. Key affiliations include the Research Centre for Defence Studies (CDS) and Cyber Security Research Group (CSRG) at King’s College, where he collaborates on executive development programs and thought-leadership projects.
