Krzysztof Zygalski is a Lecturer at the Multimedia Studio of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice since 2013. Born in 1955, he holds degrees in Material Engineering (AGH University of Science and Technology, 1975–1980) and Film/TV Direction (University of Silesia in Katowice, 1980–1984). A former student of renowned director Krzysztof Kieślowski, Zygalski has produced/directed over 50 films, including documentaries, features, and commercials. He co-founded the Terminals Film Studio in 1991 and has contributed to multimedia projects blending art and technology, such as the NEBULA audio-visual experiment (awarded at Festival Animator 2018 and Vimeo Staff Picks). His work spans film production, educational multimedia, and collaborative ventures with institutions like the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra. Projects include immersive multimedia spectacles (e.g., CallTrane with live music and real-time graphics) and academic research on wayfinding systems and digital typography. His contributions have been showcased internationally, including at the Beijing 1+1 Art Centre and the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz. Awards: Special Award at Festival Animator 2018, multiple nominations (O!PLA, Anima Mundi), and recognition for multimedia innovation.
