Jeffrey Townsend is the Elihu Professor of Biostatistics and Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Yale University. He serves as Co-Director of the Genetics, Genomics, and Epigenetics Program of the Yale Cancer Center and Co-Chair of the Cancer Evolution Working Group of the American Association for Cancer Research. His academic journey began with a Biology degree from Brown University (1994), followed by a PhD in Organismic & Evolutionary Biology from Harvard University (2002), and a Miller Fellowship at UC Berkeley (2004). Professor Townsend's research spans two primary areas: cancer genetics/epidemiology and biostatistical modeling of disease spread.
