Liza Seubert is an Associate Professor and Head of the Discipline of Pharmacy at the University of Western Australia (UWA). She holds a PhD from UWA and a BPharm from Curtin University. Her academic roles include managing intern pharmacist training and contributing to national pharmacy regulation. She leads the School of Allied Health's Pharmacy division and is affiliated with the Centre for Optimisation of Medicines. Her research focuses on professionalism, health literacy, and improving pharmacy practice through simulation methodologies and health humanities. Key projects include the Depth of Field initiative (funded by Healthway) using art and narratives to enhance healthcare education, and national studies on pharmacists in residential aged care. She has pioneered the CRiSPHe guideline for simulated patient studies and co-designed health literacy curricula with students and carers. Dr. Seubert has received significant recognition, including the Eric Kirk Memorial Award (2021), Pharmaceutical Society of Australia Fellowship (2022), and WA Lifetime Achievement Pharmacist Award (2024). She supervises PhD candidates exploring pharmacy practice competencies, health literacy in curricula, and global professionalism standards. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing quality education and good health. Current grants include the Medical Research Future Fund-supported PROMPT-RC project to optimize medications in aged care and a Healthway-funded study on stigma reduction through storytelling.
