Dr. Prakash Veeraraghavan is the Head of the Department of Computer Science and IT at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. He holds an Associate Professor rank with extensive experience in academia and research. His career includes roles as Acting Head of Department (2022–2023), Teaching and Learning Coordinator, and prior academic positions at institutions like Universiti Putra Malaysia and the University of Madras. He earned a BSc (1987), MSc (1989), and PhD (1994) from Indian academic institutions. His research focuses on cybersecurity, computer networks, graph theory applications, and secure systems. Key interests include IoT security, network protocols, and cybersecurity policy frameworks, particularly in Saudi Arabia. He has authored over 96 publications, including works on smart city cybersecurity, multicast infrastructure, and AI-based educational systems. Dr. Veeraraghavan has received accolades such as the CSIRO OnPrime Pre Accelerator Program (2017), University Grants Commission-JRF (1989), and academic excellence awards for his degrees. He is also a Certified Cisco instructor in Cyber Operations and Networking. His teaching portfolio includes courses like Industry Development Project and Intermediate Network Engineering. He has contributed to non-academic roles, such as Regional Technical Adviser for the Canadian International Development Agency (1999–2002).
