Marc J. Adler serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biology within the Faculty of Science at Toronto Metropolitan University, where he maintains an active research program and teaching portfolio. His educational foundation includes a BSc from UC Berkeley (2003), PhD from Duke University (2008), and postdoctoral fellowships at Yale University (2009) and University of Oxford (2011). These experiences established his expertise in synthetic methodologies before his faculty appointments. Professor Adler's research centers on Synthetic Organic Chemistry , specifically developing Biological Probes and Bioactive Molecules , advancing Organosilicon Chemistry , and creating novel Synthetic Methods . His work bridges chemical synthesis with biological applications, focusing on molecular tools for probing biological systems and therapeutic development. His contributions have been recognized through significant honors: YSGS Outstanding Contribution to Graduate Education Award (2022) Ryerson University Faculty of Science Dean’s Teaching Award (2021) Mortar Board Outstanding Faculty at Northern Illinois University (2012-2014) As an educator, he teaches core undergraduate and graduate organic chemistry courses while leading the MJA Lab. His mentorship extends to university initiatives like Lab2Market, which helps students translate research into commercial applications, reflecting his commitment to developing both scientific knowledge and practical innovation. The MJA Lab (http://www.themjalab.com/) operates as his primary research hub, focusing on synthetic methodology development and bioactive molecule design within Toronto Metropolitan University's scientific ecosystem.
