Dr. Soumya Sankar is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Utrecht University's Mathematical Institute in the Fundamental Mathematics department, working as part of the XL Rational Points Consortium. Previously, she served as a Ross Assistant Professor at Ohio State University and was a Gamelin Postdoctoral Fellow at MSRI during Fall 2020. Her research expertise spans several interconnected areas of pure mathematics: Number theory Arithmetic and algebraic geometry Arithmetic statistics Rational points on moduli stacks Dr. Sankar is an active organizer within the mathematical community, currently co-organizing the Algebraic Geometry Seminar at Utrecht University with Sara Mehidi and the Arakelov Theory seminar of the Rational Points Consortium. Her organizational contributions include the Mathematical Research Community on Explicit computations with Stacks (June 2023), the online seminar series New Developments in Number Theory during the pandemic, and the Madison Moduli Weekend Online conference (September 2020). She is dedicated to inclusive mathematical practices, explicitly aligning with Federico Ardila's axioms regarding equitable mathematical potential and student dignity. Dr. Sankar will be teaching the Seminar on Quadratic Forms (WISM568) in Spring 2025 at Utrecht University.
