Gene Habecker, PhD, is an Adjunct Faculty member at Liberty Baptist College's School of Bible & Ministry. He previously served as President of Taylor University (2005–2016), American Bible Society (1991–2005), and Huntington University (1981–1991). He holds a BA from Taylor University, MA from Ball State University, PhD from the University of Michigan, JD from Temple University (inactive Pennsylvania Bar member), and a diploma from Harvard University's Institute for Educational Management. He has earned nine honorary degrees. His research interests focus on leadership in religious and educational contexts, emphasizing ethical leadership, organizational renewal, and spiritual formation. His publications include influential works on leadership dynamics, such as Rediscovering the Soul of Leadership and The Softer Side of Leadership , alongside devotional guides for congregational growth. He has been recognized in numerous "Who’s Who" directories, highlighting his contributions to religion, law, and education. Dr. Habecker’s career spans over four decades in higher education administration and religious leadership. His academic writings blend practical insights with theoretical frameworks, addressing challenges in institutional governance, ethical decision-making, and cross-cultural leadership. He also contributes to interfaith dialogue through his edited devotional series, emphasizing the integration of spiritual practice with daily leadership.
