Jérémy Alain La Scala is a Researcher and Doctoral Assistant at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with the School of Engineering (STI) and the SCI-STI-DG research group. He is concurrently pursuing a PhD in Learning Sciences within the Doctoral Program in Learning Sciences (EDLS). His academic background includes a Bachelor's and Master's in Microengineering from EPFL, specializing in low-power embedded systems for the Internet of Things. His research focuses on digital affordances for design and project-based learning in engineering education. Key interests include the role of generative AI, collaborative digital platforms, and web-based tools in enhancing knowledge sharing and scaffolding in educational contexts. Recent work explores AI-driven brainstorming support, human-AI collaborative ideation, and the integration of physics simulations in teaching. La Scala has published extensively on educational technology and pedagogical innovation, including studies on generative AI applications, blended learning frameworks, and collaborative design activities. His work bridges technical engineering know-how with educational theory, aiming to improve teaching methodologies through technology.
