Sarah Canham is a Professor in the College of Social Work at the University of Utah and serves as the Associate Director of the University’s Health Interprofessional Education program. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Simon Fraser University in Canada. PhD in Gerontology from University of Maryland, Baltimore County Postdoctoral training at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and Simon Fraser University Research Interests : Homelessness, Housing Security, Aging, Health Equity, Social Justice, Public Health . Her community-based research engages providers, clinicians, and individuals with lived experience to address systemic barriers to aging well. Key Article Trends : Recent publications focus on homelessness vulnerability assessment tools , transportation equity , social integration in housing programs , and pandemic impacts on older adults , with a strong emphasis on policy implications and social determinants of health. Honors : Fellow, Gerontological Society of America (2020) College of Social Work’s Mary Shields McPhee Endowed Faculty Award for Research (2023) Grants : Currently leading a Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation/Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Partnership Grant (2020–2028) titled “Aging in the Right Place” across three Canadian cities.
